Cancellation & Refund Policy

PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION

  • The 20% deposit is only refundable if your spot can be filled, minus the booking fee

  • A non-refundable booking fee of $150 applies to all bookings and will not be refunded under any circumstances

  • Cancellations made more than 60 days before the start date:

    • Full refund minus the non-refundable booking fee, and any processing fees if your spot can be filled

    • No refund if your spot cannot be filled

  • Cancellations made less than 60 days before the start date:

    • 50% refund (excluding deposit) minus non-refundable booking fee and any processing fees if your spot can be filled

    • No refund if your spot cannot be filled

WAITLIST & SPOT FILLING

  • We maintain a waitlist for all our programs

  • If you cancel and we can fill your spot from the waitlist, you will receive a refund according to the above terms minus the booking fee

  • We will make reasonable efforts to fill cancelled spots but cannot guarantee placement

PROGRAM CANCELLATION BY CLUB SHAKAS

  • In the event that Club Shakas must cancel a program, participants will receive a full refund including the deposit minus the booking fee

  • The booking fee remains non-refundable even in the event of program cancellation by Club Shakas

  • Club Shakas is not responsible for any travel-related expenses or losses incurred due to program cancellation

TRANSFER POLICY

  • Participants may transfer their registration to another person subject to approval by Club Shakas

  • A transfer fee of $100 will apply

  • The new participant must agree to all terms and conditions and complete all required paperwork

TRAVEL INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants

  • Proof of travel insurance must be provided no later than 30 days before the program start date

  • Insurance coverage must include:

    • Trip cancellation/interruption

    • Medical emergencies and evacuation

    • Explicit coverage for surfing and water sports activities

    • Coverage for surf equipment damage or loss

    • Adventure sports coverage that specifically includes surfing

    • Minimum medical coverage amount of $100,000

    • Water sports-related injury coverage

  • Participants must provide proof that their insurance policy explicitly covers surfing activities

  • Participants without valid travel insurance including surf coverage will not be permitted to join the program

  • No refunds will be issued for failure to obtain required insurance

FORCE MAJEURE
No refunds will be issued for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure) including but not limited to:

    • Natural disasters

    • Severe weather conditions

    • Political unrest

    • Pandemics or public health emergencies

    • Government travel restrictions
